I have known Meena for over 20 years, ever since my lower back surgery. I first learned about Shambala Yoga through a friend, and it was there that I met Meena, who became my yoga therapist. I sought her help after my surgeon told me that I would have to live with chronic pain and rely on painkillers. I still vividly remember our first meeting; I was desperate for some hope and a positive outlook on my condition. During that meeting, she assured me that I would be completely fine, and she encouraged me to believe that every day would be better than the last.
That was the beginning of my journey with Meena. In the early days, it was difficult for me to understand her language when she explained simple stretches or breathing techniques. But Meena was patient and persistent, gradually helping me learn the terminology and understand my body better. Thanks to her, I’m living a much more normal life than I ever thought possible. Meena taught me to never give up. I learned how effective her method was in breaking down the small steps of a single asana, never rushing through anything. Her motto, “slow and steady,” proved true in every sense. She guided not only my body but also ensured that my mind was aligned with the path of recovery. Who I am today, after such a major surgery, is thanks to Meena—her belief in me and her dedication to her teachings.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve seen Meena change countless lives with her systematic approach. She has remained consistent in her methods, whether addressing physical or psychological issues. She empowers her clients to take charge of their recovery with the techniques she teaches them. Her understanding of her clients is incredible, almost as if she can see into every part of their bodies with a special insight. What I’ve gained from Meena and her teachings is something I wish for everyone who seeks to improve physically and emotionally. I hope they, too, benefit from the ‘Moksha’ initiative Meena has started. There are no words that can truly express my gratitude, but I wish her all the best as she continues to spread her knowledge to the millions who will benefit from ‘Moksha’.
